One of my friends and I have an ongoing discussion that has spanned well over a decade, in which we make claims about the best covers of all time. I claim that I have won, as I introduced him to Frog Leap Studios which I have posted about several times here. His entry as "best cover of all time" is this one - the Zappas covering Britney.
This is a fantastic cover, and is certainly (to my ears) better than the original. It's delightful, keeps the things that make the original catchy, but add so much more.

The autoplay went into Tenacious D + Dweezil Zappa playing Crazy Train. Not the best recording in the worlds, but it was pretty delightful.
