    I always saw Radiohead as more Alternative than Indie, but they definitely overlap. The Bends is very very good.

      They're definitely alternative (I updated the tags!), but The Bends is quintessential Indie Rock. They definitely did an aboutface and became very commercialized pop-rock (and that's great for them), but they started out Indie. I wouldn't classify Ok Computer as Indie Rock (great album though).

    1995 - The Bends by Radiohead. This isn't the album you probably think of when you think about Radiohead, but it is always the one that is most synonymous for me. The plaintiff singing with the simple acoustic guitar and the straight forward bass foundation is the sound of Indie Rock. And yes, Thom Yorke and Radiohead - one of the biggest, most mainstream musical acts of the last 25 years - was Indie Rock at that point.

    This may well be my favourite Radiohead song.
