Video for the new single from Silent Planet. The song is about the opioid crisis in America. Like a lot of Silent Planet songs, there are numerous allusions and references employed and all of them are shown as footnotes in the description of the video. This time around includes references to Infinite Jest, Naked Lunch, Get Out, a Department Health and Human Services document and more.

I absolutely love this band and they are currrently my favorite metal band. I have listened to their song 'Panic Room' (a song about PTSD) well over 100 times and I still get chills at:

Praise me for my valor, lay me on a crimson tower -
Justify my endless terror as my “finest hour.”

The first time listening to their album 'The Night God Slept' is one of my most memorable music listening experiences and immediately became my all-time favorite album to listen to front to back. And this is yet another great song to add to the list of their best tracks, IMO.

He’s wielding a needle, it’s laced with ambition... set on finding forever or blacking out the friction. She’s clutching a bottle - conscripted prescription - deaf to my dissent, void of all volition. Injecting fire straight into the veins, nothing will cauterize the wound where I remain. Ingesting tiny stars one by one... one by one... I come undone.

Incredible. They have an amazing way with words. Does Garrett Russell write the lyrics?

That Panic room lyric goes through my head regularly too. It's amazing how this band keeps getting better considering how great The Night God Slept is. As far as I know, Garrett writes all the...

As far as I know, Garrett writes all the lyrics. He's mentioned that he keeps a small notebook and jots stuff down when he reads/sees it without any real intent of having it in a song, but just to remind him when he's writing.
