Recently discovered Machine Girl after a friend left his playlist playing after a DnD session and fell in love with the music. I've never been exposed to much noise music and never expected to enjoy it this much. The album art, song titles, the music itself is all surreal and I'm a sucker for this kind of weird stuff.

For me Machine Girl expresses the cyberpunk at a subconscious level. When I listen to WLFGRL or ...BECAUSE IM YOUNG ARROGANT I get this feeling of getting a glimpse into the world of Gibson's "Neuromancer" or Shadowrun. The crazy mix of electric noise, goa/psy-trance beats, desperate screams create this dreamy unpredictable subconscious flow of information. The chaotic structure also lends itself so well to multiple listens. I can listen to the same songs so many times and create completely new connections and thoughts from before. It's as if each song contains multiple different songs in itself that are waiting to be unpacked.

I don't know what I'm talking about, but I'm loving it. Also rediscovered Death Grips in a different light thanks to Machine Girl.

Damn, it's definitely got that dirty vibe to it, I can definitely see how you'd associate it with cyberpunk. Cool recommendation, not quite like anything I've listened to before. Thanks.

I've been listening to Her's this week, after learning about the tragic car accident that killed the band in late March.

It's just such a bummer, their music is pretty good. But what really gets me is their social media presence; they were clearly running it on their own, as there hasn't been any acknowledgement on their FB, Twitter, etc. Now it's just this haunting record of where they were at, right up to the moment of the crash.

Probably my favorite song of theirs is "What Once Was".

Good news everyone! Blackpink, the All Saints (ahem, showing my age there) of K-Pop, have a new EP out

Also Heilung have a single out, Norupo, taken from their upcoming new album, which I'm very excited for. In addition I've been listening to 90s indie band Sleeper's new stuff, and have recently discovered Norwegian singer Aurora.

I just began listening to AJR. Specifically The Click. Haven't listened to it in its entirety yet, but what I've heard I've liked.

Just started listening to the released music from their upcoming album!! They have been slowly creeping their way into my playlists for a while now and I welcome it.

Konichiwa Bitches [sic] (Trentemoeller remix), by Robyn. It's not sophisticated, but it has the rhythm and the electronic sound.

    Chart!

Recently started paying more attention to The Quietus's reviews, since they often operate in a whole other sphere of music. Been paying off so far! I really reccomend LAFAWNDAH's recent release, really interesting fusion of Trip Hop and World music, the lead single has been on heavy rotation for me.

Hiding Places easily my aoty so far. Getting a lot of mileage out of it. Gets better with each listen. Haunting and quirky. Love the way it really captures a sense of abandonment, american summer heat, shelter.

Wasn't feeling Weyes Blood, but will give it another spin since it's getting a lot of attention.

American Football's new LP mostly just efficient imitation of their debut.

Kevin Abstract's new EP nothing to write home about.

I think this is by far the weirdest song I've ever found, but for some reason I like it!
In terms of normal music, its been So American - Portugal. The Man and Divinity (ODESZA Remix) - Porter Robinson, and I've also started listening to Exist - Space Jesus again. Other than songs like that, I'm still blasting Hi This Is Flume
