Showbiz is probably the album I've listened to the least from them - wouldn't say it's my favorite but it's pretty good.

I found an Australian prog metal/experimental metal/funk metal/whatever the fuck they feel like band called Twelve Foot Ninja. Spotify fuckin pulled through once again with the recommendations. They're like a slightly harder Mr. Bungle and it fucking rules. One Hand Killing, Portrait #1, Dark Passenger, Monsoon, and Invincible all fuckin rock. Portrait #1 is like a perfect song for me. I'm pissed because I don't know if I'll ever find another song like it. I'd link them but it's midnight and I'm on my phone. I've been jamming out to pretty much just these awesome guys lately.

Might want to check out the short lived band Digitalism as well.

I’ve been meanwhile getting into Tiny Desk Concerts quite a bit recently. They remind me of SoFar Sounds shows, which I highly suggest for anyone interested in a more intimate music environment. Usually some cool people in attendance as well. BYOB, and a great date option, if anyone is interested.

For me, though, I can’t get enough of Foimal by Boogarins. I’m not into all their songs, but this one is stuck in my head.

Indeed it does. Kamasi is on a different level. He doesn’t even do features.

The soundtrack from the original Hotline Miami. I'm keeping an ear out for this kind of electronic music so recommendations are welcome!

Mitch Murder is really good, too. More intense on the 80s nostalgia, but also very original stuff. He also did the music for Kung Fury.

I can be pretty picky because it's a popular style to do because of it's simplicity and there are a lot of artists who get trapped by the aesthetic without actually doing anything interesting with the sound, but these two are solid.

I always approached synthwave as a monolith, but I'll definitely come through those lists.

You’ll have to check out some vapor wave. Still in the same vein but mostly deals with pop culture remixes.

Com Truise pushes the boundaries a bit in terms of structure, but HOME as an example focuses more on grooves in the leads and pads, but I think the groove that emerges between sections matters more than anything happening in either section specifically. At least, this is what I notice in any track I hear that I go back to.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I'd consider him synthwave. Some songs sound more like it than others, but maybe a little more towards "electro" overall? Here's a good interview with M|O|O|N from a couple of years ago, specifically about how Hotline Miami helped him get a lot of exposure. As mentioned in the interview, he's stopped releasing music as M|O|O|N now though, and I'm not sure what he's doing now.

I'd probably suggest trying the soundtrack to the game Furi as well since it has some really good artists that you might like.

I prefer their first two records, Bigfoot and Dancing at the Blue Lagoon. I would describe Cayucas as indie-vacation-pop... which will make sense after listening to the first two records.

Just gave Alive 2007 a re-listen--it had been a while--and OMG it might be one of the most creative and fun albums to come out during the mid-late 2000s. It's just impossibly immaculate for a live album. It is a timeless classic. I knew grade 7 me didn't have completely trash music tastes.
