The way Rush's music grew and changed over their career warms my heart. It reflects both keeping up with music trends and how they themselves grew. They went from a Zeppelin clone to among the best of 70s prog, to doing their own spin on new wave, to full synth to even doing a few grungey songs (that were even pretty good) in their 40s. I was sad that they called it quits in 2016, but it had to happen eventually and we all knew it. The last song on their last album (The Garden) is a wonderful sendoff and while I'm sad they're done, they left an incredible body of work that has impacted me more than any band I've heard.

Haven't listened in years (decades?), but at one time I had all the albums on cassettes. Maybe you'll like this one? The Bad Plus - Tom Sawyer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gGR-lbiFQk
