I live with three scouts, my appreciation for shanties only grew during the last couple years :) Versengold, Schandmaul, Das Niveau, Feuerschwanz. There's plenty of German language shanty-ish out there! I've noticed a while ago, that a certain type of folk (along the lines of Saltatio Mortis, Subway To Sally, In Extremo), is a lot more popular in Germany than in other areas, no idea why though
Ah, I just listened to their "Wie Zuhause" yesterday and thought I should listen to them more often :)
They're honestly criminally underappreciated. Who knew that shanty goes that well with the German language?
