Traditional Chinese music's been my go to for ambientish outside of the usual rotation of Aphex's Selected Ambient Works

Oh, and Jolene but played at 33rpm...

For an ambient-ish recommendation, give BT's new album Between Here and You a shot.

Anyway, you can just search the artist/album name on whatever you like to listen through.

Edit: it seems to work if I manually change the "odesli.co" to "album.link": https://album.link/s/0pxu2qgeLaeU1ztHvAkFPE (fixed the link in my original comment too)

I've always felt like Dire Straits was totally underrated. Back when trading bootleg Grateful Dead tapes was a thing (maybe it still is?), getting a good Dire Straits tape could make your month! In concert they were on par with seeing a Dead show as they could jam forever. Their music could often have an ephemeral quality that picked up a strong beat, and anything could happen in between.

About a year ago I set out to lose the 30lbs that I gained in middle age. I started calorie counting, and did not like how little I could eat. But if I could increase my movement, I could eat more calories and still lose weight! Exercise regimens didn't do it for me. Enter Dire straits: I ended up picking side 1 of their album Love Over Gold which has just two songs on it, Telegraph Road and Private Investigations. I've basically been walking or jogging, depending on the beat, for 20 minutes 5-7 days a week for a year. I freaking love it. Oh, and I lost most of the 30lbs.

    Telegraph Road
    Private Investigations

I don't know if anyone can relate to this, but here it goes. I've had times in my life that I now call "Monarda being crazy." Though I am long past those days, I never want to forget them, because to do so, I don't know, is like a denial of self. Whatever, something like that. There's certain music that I sometimes seek out that allows me to almost feel what those times felt like. Or maybe ore importantly allows me to evaluate the thought processes that made the "crazy." The following song was mid-way through the "people can hear my thoughts" "crazy." (As an aside, monitoring your thoughts 24/7 is exhausting.) There's nothing in the song that suggests "people can hear my thoughts," but this song was how "they" sort of spoke to me, letting me know I was not alone. I've been listening to it recently.

I grew up listening to Prairie Home Companion and Riders in the Sky, and just learned they had some of Rider's albums on Spotify (though nothing compares to their live Saturday night shows that were on PRI at the time, and I don't think there's any archive of). Riders in the Sky was essentially a humorous/lighthearted barbershop quartet mixed with bluegrass that'd perform a weekly audio play in front of a live audience. Listening to some of this then lead me to a large playlist of instrumental bluegrass. I don't normally listen to bluegrass (let alone country) but the nostalgia of it kinda brought me back and has paired pretty good with the fall weather.

Aside from that it's been vaporwave for background work music and jazz or muted acoustic stuff for my walks into and away from work.

There has been a lot of new music released this week so I have been enjoying the new Teitanblood, Hour of Penance and Unaussprechlichen Kulten. I'm about to spin up the latest Mayhem album.

The Great Old Ones released their latest too, most excellent HP Lovecraft themed Metal. Really enjoying this, as I do with all their albums

I also revisited a middle school favorite, Rise Against, and I think I may be getting sucked back into that too.

The new Xoth is blowing my mind. Listened yesterday, so it's still early to say more than this. This along with The Great Old Ones @Dobbie03 mentioned are the top of the month.
