This is the latest video from Squarepusher's new album, "Be Up a Hello" which apparently released yesterday. If the singles are at all telling, this album is going to be all over the place. I figured I'd share here, and give a couple thoughts.

I thought the video was interesting, it had similar ideas to Aphex Twin's T69 Collapse video, but was done with Daito Manabe, apparently a long-time collaborator with Squarepusher. I think the way the visuals are done as part of the scene rather than being the whole scene was brilliant.

The music moves in a way that could be expected from Squarepusher. This track is pretty cool in that it has the harsh distorted synths in the foreground, then mellow leads sitting in the back of the mix, a bit typical for Squarepusher through Ufuabulum and Damogen Furies, but he's taking his drum programming in a different direction with this sound.

I'm curious what anybody else thinks about it, I've just wound up buying the album as Squarepusher albums are always buy-on-sight for me.
