This is one of my favorites by him. Phil Ochs has been a hero of mine since I was in 6th grade, now I'm 28 and I still love his music and his topical songs feel just as relevant today! Good to see...

Last night, I was reading Ochs' wiki page which explains that they were friends and that Jara's murder was a factor in Phil's decline.

You might be interested to know that a lot of his work he published in Broadside Magazine, PDFs of which can be found on SingOut.org's website. The magazine is full of unreleased/unrecorded songs by famous folk singers including Ochs and interviews with them as well. When I'm Gone is published in edition #128: https://singout.org/downloads/broadside/b128.pdf
