What two songs don't feel like they should be from the same artist?

Maybe that atmospheric death metal band you like recorded an acoustic folk cover of a Rihanna song. Maybe that bubblegum pop artist you follow made an experimental post-rock album.

The goal is to highlight range: try to find two songs that are as "far away" from one another as possible while still being from the same artist.

Link the songs here, and identify what makes them so different.

I could probably think of some that are much more stylistically different, but one pairing that always got me vs Havana Burning vs Food and Pussy by Dan Reeder, off the same album. Stylistically the two aren't too different, but in terms of lyrics they couldn't be further. Just as a sample:

    What do you want?
    I want food and pussy
    How come?
It's just the way God made me
    Is it alright?
I guess it must be ok
    Hoo bop bop bop
    Shengalengalengleng

    vs

    If I had a pistol
    I could join a revolution
    Just like Che
    Imagine me
Hunkered down low in the sugarcane
    Watching Havana burning

    They might say, "Listen here
We got no soap, and we got no beer
We fight for the truth, and the truth is clear."
I say, "Who you gotta know to get a gun around here?
    I wanna see Havana burning."

I'll do you one better, and pick two from the same album. Chosen Family by Rina Sawayama is a fairly traditional pop ballad, while STFU! is a pretty banging metal song, both from her 2020 album...

Chosen Family by Rina Sawayama is a fairly traditional pop ballad, while STFU! is a pretty banging metal song, both from her 2020 album SAWAYAMA.

I'm less familiar with Poppy, but I think one could also pick out a similar pop-metal dichotomy from what I've heard about her.

One of my favorite things about SAWAYAMA is its range. It covers a lot of ground in a short amount of time, and "Chosen Family" and "STFU!" are definitely as far away from one another as songs get on the album. Great choices.
