    To really accentuate how ridiculous this law is, note that it would not appear to just extend copyright but, unless I am mistaken, would retroactively apply to all sound recordings in all of history, including those already in the public domain. Furthermore, it appears that it bizarrely applies only to digital reproductions, such that analog reproductions would be legal for many works while digital ones would not.

    Unfortunately, it also appears that the bill has significant bipartisan support, and seems almost certain to pass.
