Africa Is a Country Radio, the audio accompaniment to the website of the same name, is a monthly deep dive into the music and cultural politics of the African continent and beyond. Hosted by Chief Boima, the show features a mix of music and interviews with musicians, historians, journalists, and more.
The theme for this season’s Africa Is a Country Radio is “Clubbing across the Continent” inspired by the Goethe-Institut's Ten Cities project. In episode two we visit Nairobi with Bill Odidi, journalist and radio producer from Nairobi, and learn about the history and social geography of the city through the lens of popular music and club culture.

OK, so after listening to this episode, I ended up going onto Apple Music to see if I could find some of this, and I could! That surprised me. For example, they have Les Wanyika's Sina Makosa. But even better, they even have the lyrics! I don't what language they're in, but I love that you can put it in Karoake mode, and see them! This is awesome, and I hope to listen to more in the future!
