I am usually loathe to link to the National Post, but this was the best summary I could find on this little bit of offbeat news from my part of the world. Kudos to the Mayor for speaking plain, and not taking any shit from theses imbeciles. "Fuck off, you fuckwads" exemplifies how most Canadians seem to feel about all the QAnon idiots up here, and their facepalm-worthy shenanigans.
I read about this on vice.com and it really made me wonder about the gulf between these QAnon folks and, um, normal people (?). Ratcheting down the lunacy a bit from QAnon to MAGA supporters in the US, I've found that I can at least talk to some Trump supporters and, even if we disagree, I can sort of see what motivates them. But these QAnon folks are just off the deep end. Is there any research looking at QAnon from the perspective of mass hysteria? Actually, assuming that social media plays a big role in the cultivation of these mindsets, it would be pretty interesting to study mass hysteria in the modern social media age.
