We have a lot of breathless conversation where we clutch our pearls over white supremacists being denied a platform by those whom they seek to marginalize. Missing from those conversations is the much more serious state repression of groups that seek to give voice to the marginalized groups in our society. Often it's taken as a given by so-called proponents of free speech that leftist groups face no opposition either from the state or wider society. We can see here that is clearly not the case, and even a peaceful BLM group faces much more scrutiny from the police than white supremacist groups.
