    Surprised there was no mention of Vancouver's limitation on Uber and Lyft in that article. Vancouver is the only major North American city that still has no ride-sharing services due to the lack of regulation, labour code, and insurance that follows with it.

    Reading through the article, it talks about taxicabs kind of being doomed. But aren't taxis the only vehicle allowed to actually park outside of the places like bus stations and airports? Isn't...

    Reading through the article, it talks about taxicabs kind of being doomed. But aren't taxis the only vehicle allowed to actually park outside of the places like bus stations and airports? Isn't that the one thing that cab companies have going for them?

    Not that it matters though. I was coming back from a business trip in Houston and I was at the airport and this woman asked me and another gentleman if our city had Uber. She seemed real worried about it and the thought to just get a cab because they are always literally waiting outside of airports never even crossed her mind. So it's crazy to see the massive change Uber and Lyft have caused. You don't even hear the word taxi anymore.

      I think the issue that a lot of people have with actual taxis is the price. It's 2-3x the price of an Uber or Lyft most places.
