When I was a kid I went camping with my grandparents in their pop-up camper and we were invaded by raccoons in the middle of the night. The cooler with the food was sitting in a screened in area attached to the camper which they broke into and dragged all the food away and absolutely destroyed the campsite. We tried to scare them away but they would just ignore us or come back after a couple of minutes so we gave up and they were just scratching at the bottoms of our beds (the pop-up campers have the hanging beds) and trying to get in. We didn't stay another night there!

Yeah I think we didn't do it because there weren't any bears in the area and underestimated the raccoons.
