    Really disappointing to see as a New Zealander to be honest. This is one of those scenarios where I constantly mull over in my head, in the unlikely event I was asked for my phone password, how I'd react. Frankly, I'd love to see our weak customs & border security attempt to apply "forensic search" to one of the most secure and encrypted models of phone currently made.

    This makes me wonder if there could be a way to run a VM over a VPN connection for all apps and phone operations so that nothing is stored locally. Essentially running a private cloud based mobile OS. They could search the device to their heart's content but nothing would be on it.

      That's an interesting idea! It might be easier to try and boot from a live disk sd card or something. The card itself would be easily missed in a search, or the disk image could be stored in the...

        It seems like it would be feasible so I'm surprised I haven't seen anything like it yet. Of course you would need a decent mobile data or WiFi connection though.
