Other articles have evoked similar comments by party members, though the initiative touts itself as a means to reinforce German laws against political indoctrination it seems like the examples cited invariably are about people not being charitable enough to the AfD.

I think "Open dialogue" is important there. It's one thing to forbid teachers from proselytizing their own political affiliation, it's quite another to forbid them from answering or discussing students' questions on political manners unless it is done in a completely sterile and 'neutral', which is a highly debatable concept. And it most certainly should not be done through public pressure by organizations who have vested interests in the process not being impartial.
