    I'm hesitant to post this because I'm basically planning to post and run. I followed the original case, and honestly found it deeply disturbing and really just don't have the emotional will to really discuss it. However, I do think it's an important case, and people, Canadians especially, should know about.

    The main issue for me about this case and its outcome is consent. Can a person consent to being tortured (with a reasonable likelihood of harm and/or death, which is part of condition of second degree murder)? To be fair, "rough sex" was the phrase they used in court. Does consent absolve manslaughter (unlawful or criminal negligence)?
