    FFS... I thought this sort of practice only took place in our distant past as a country but the fact it was still happening as recently as 2017 is absolute disgusting and unforgivable.

    Following an independent review in Jan. 2017, the Saskatoon Health Region apologized for the past coercion of Indigenous women to undergo surgical sterilization.

    It damn well better be well and truly in the "past" now! I hope the class action takes these health institutions to the bank. Small comfort though that may be for these women given what happened to them, but at least it's something.

      I was honestly really shocked to read 2017 too! I remember having discussions about residential schools where the last one was closed in 1996 and debating with coworkers if that was "in the distant past", but 2017?!

      I really hope the class action offers some justice for these gross violations.
