I remember reading an article about the forced reeducation/concentration camps for Chinese Muslims, but in this case, the woman wanted to renounce her Chinese citizenship so she could become a citizen of Khazakstan. She was forced to have an abortion and was separated from her 2 children for long periods of time, despite having no intention of staying in China. She was also heavily surveilled, her every action scrutinized, at home or in public. Her story is not uncommon, though it is notable in that a western journalist was able to cover it. Western countries need to stop ignoring the ethnic cleansing at the hands of the CPC just because they're a trading partner. Genocide should not be tolerated, and Trump should be slamming China for their atrocities, not just their unfair trading practices.
