Holy cow! A while back Sater predicted he would be one of the most interesting figures in the Trump-Russia investigation. It's been a little bit longer than a month, but it looks like his prediction is turning out to be true. Get this:

My idea was to give a $50 million penthouse to Putin and charge $250 million more for the rest of the units. All the oligarchs would line up to live in the same building as Putin.

Also included in the article are new text conversions between Sater and Cohen.

And another smoking gun. The amount of corruption in the White House is baffling. You'd think after midterms the GOP would throw Trump under the bus.

They're part of the cult of leadership. It's very strange but in a democracy, the members of the party should have more leeway to dump crappy leaders. Instead, we see the opposite and we see the idiot members forgetting that they have a political career to protect and taking the fall for the party leader. It's happened in the US and in Canada as well, it's amazing how $$$$ and fear can blind people.

Are there any laws prohibiting the president of the United States from bribing a foreign head of state? [Edited: replaced "diplomat" with "head of state"]

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. There are probably other statues which apply as well. From justice.gov:

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. There are probably other statues which apply as well.

      From justice.gov:

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977, as amended, 15 U.S.C. ยงยง 78dd-1, et seq. ("FCPA"), was enacted for the purpose of making it unlawful for certain classes of persons and entities to make payments to foreign government officials to assist in obtaining or retaining business. Specifically, the anti-bribery provisions of the FCPA prohibit the willful use of the mails or any means of instrumentality of interstate commerce corruptly in furtherance of any offer, payment, promise to pay, or authorization of the payment of money or anything of value to any person, while knowing that all or a portion of such money or thing of value will be offered, given or promised, directly or indirectly, to a foreign official to influence the foreign official in his or her official capacity, induce the foreign official to do or omit to do an act in violation of his or her lawful duty, or to secure any improper advantage in order to assist in obtaining or retaining business for or with, or directing business to, any person.
