Pity that the State of New York does not support transparency of charities such as the State of California does. There's not enough manpower in any state Attorney General's office to oversee effectively all the charities, so by have a system that does not make readily available annual statements and information for the public to scrutinize, charities can run amok out of public scrutiny and only in the most egregious of circumstances are they held to account.

If New York did support transparency of charities, Trump wouldn't have his "charity" there.

Ironically, the District of Columbia seems to be even more lackadaisical about charities. I called asking about whatever reports or filings charities registered within their jurisdiction might be available. The clerk answering the phone sounded very helpful and knowledgeable, but perplexed and promised to have an attorney call me back. I never received a call back. Perhaps the District of Columbia is to charities what Delaware is to corporations?

As everything around Trump continues to be implicated with criminal activity, I wonder if we are going to see an impeachment or if they'll wait for his term to be over before going after him.

“Our petition detailed a shocking pattern of illegality involving the Trump Foundation – including unlawful coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing, and much more. This amounted to the Trump Foundation functioning as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s business and political interests."

"We’ll continue to move our suit forward to ensure that the Trump Foundation and its directors are held to account for their clear and repeated violations of state and federal law.”

I just can't envision enough Republicans in the Senate for two-thirds voting to impeach Trump. However bad or whatever he has done. This would be the same if the situation were with the two...

This would be the same if the situation were with the two parties reversed.

The constitution is outdated. It needs to be fixed.
