It is almost comical how incompetent this administration is, particularly for such a central idea of their campaign / government.

Trump shut down the government over his wall, which he just recently started near-exclusively referring to as being steel slats that can be seen through, and now there is evidence going back to 2017 that the steel slat design can be cut through by cheap readily available tools. And not only that, but all of the other designs for the wall can also be easily breached.

My favorite part about this entire wall nonsense is that literally the only reason it is a focus of Trump is because his advisers determined that getting Trump to say "the wall" was a way of keeping him talking about immigration.

As Mr. Trump began exploring a presidential run in 2014, his political advisers landed on the idea of a border wall as a mnemonic device of sorts, a way to make sure their candidate — who hated reading from a script but loved boasting about himself and his talents as a builder — would remember to talk about getting tough on immigration, which was to be a signature issue in his nascent campaign.

“How do we get him to continue to talk about immigration?” Sam Nunberg, one of Mr. Trump’s early political advisers, recalled telling Roger J. Stone Jr., another adviser. “We’re going to get him to talk about he’s going to build a wall.”

Trump is so inattentive and unfocused, that his central campaign message was a fucking mnemonic device his staff made up.

Trumps response? "Fake news". It would be sad if it wasn't so predictable.
