I think this election result speaks loudly that people are still not concerned with the state of the environment or climate change.
Considering the NSW liberal government oversaw the miss-management of the Murray darling basin resulting in huge fish die offs https://www.abc.net.au/news/science/2019-01-16/what-caused-menindee-fish-kill-drought-water-mismanagement/10716080
As well as approving record land clearing https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2018/aug/04/clearing-of-native-vegetation-in-nsw-jumps-800-in-three-years
Plus just the general stance of the party is anti environment. Pro big Ag and big Fossil fuel.
Personally I find this very disheartening and makes me feel a bit sick, but I guess it's to be expected in Australia at the moment. We are failing to meet our end of the Paris agreement and continue to heavily promote coal.
To be fair, that's more of a federal issue than a state one. The recent inquiry into the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (which is a federal body, set up with the agreement of the states) basically said it wasn't doing its job properly.
