Look on the bright side: At least that junk will provide an interesting discovery for when the Greenhouse-Earth-Adapted crowfolk evolve and develop space travel a few million years after we bomb ourselves to precambria as a show of power and fail to escape the planet thanks to the spinning metal cloud we built around it.

Anyone who ends up trying to rebuild past this current level of civilization is going to have it much, much harder than we did. I've seen some papers arguing that it's actually impossible.

We seriously need to have a mechanism for sanctioning or otherwise imposing consequences countries that blithely endanger global access to space in pointless dick measuring contests. Why was this necessary? Surely it's obvious that any country with a space program as advanced as India's can shoot down a satellite. It might be rocket science, but it's not the most complicated thing in the world.
Ah wonderful, more junk cluttering up LEO.

Wouldn't be near future sci-fi without it

Pretty interesting article, covers lots of view points. I enjoyed reading it.
