The first reading passed with a 76-44 margin and Mr Seymour said that gave him confidence that MPs would line up with the majority of New Zealanders and support the bill.

this is good, and should really be standard around the world. consigning people who know they are going to die to do so horribly and painfully instead of giving them the option to go on their own...

this is good, and should really be standard around the world. consigning people who know they are going to die to do so horribly and painfully instead of giving them the option to go on their own terms and avoid that pain to begin with is something of a bizarre thing that we just allow to happen, when you actually think about it in really any way. it's not like most people are against it, either--gallup surveyed americans for example and found that it's actually pretty popular (73% support) and has been for like two decades now--which might be because there's really not that many good arguments against it.
