bellingcat is like, a super lowkey good source and it kinda makes me wish they were better named sometimes. at first glance it's sorta hard to take them seriously because appearance wise they really do come off like someone's well-polished wordpress blog, when they're actually doing pretty in depth reporting that literally nobody else does.

Yeah, and their investigative methods are really unique too. They dive super deep into social media sites, obscure government databases and even darknet acquired data breaches. It almost reminds me of computer forensics and/or intelligence agency analyst work, more than it does "traditional" journalism.

On an entirely different topic. I feel bad for pewdiepie, I mean I understand that he is on top of something and he should be more responsible for his content. But, This is the second time he has been mentioned in something horrible like this. Imagine how devastating it can be. I have been watching his videos for over a year now, I don't think he intentionally wanted to promote any of alt-right personalities or ideologies he has been accused of promoting. Again, I do think he should be more careful with his content. But his edginess is what I like about him.

i would like to give him the benefit of the doubt, but following people like lauren southern and promoting people like E;R who wear the, racism, white nationalism, and anti-semitism that tends to come with their views on their sleeves does make that pretty hard, honestly. i don't think felix is a bad person, nor do i think that he's a nazi, but it's hard not to feel like he is at least sympathetic to such viewpoints.

the bigger problem i think people have with him though with respect to things like the OP is just that he doesn't do much community housekeeping, and so in being edgy but also not drawing a line of acceptability, he tends to attract bad elements like nazis and fascists, and those people then go on to propagandize to the younger people in his fanbase and radicalize them (and also commit acts of terror).
