this is one article of a seemingly bombshell series being done by the intercept. technical details of what's leaked here can be found in their first article ("How and Why The Intercept Is Reporting on a Vast Trove of Materials About Brazil’s Operation Car Wash and Justice Minister Sergio Moro"), and their second article ("Brazil’s Top Prosecutors Who Indicted Lula Schemed in Secret Messages to Prevent His Party From Winning 2018 Election") is also worth reading.

This only confirms a strong suspicion a lot of us had. I'm usually skeptical of conspiracy theories, but in this case there were way too many coincidences to ignore.

Dilma Roussef was impeached for doing something every president did before her. I'm not saying she didn't commit any illegality, but the motivations went way beyond what the law stated.

The very fact that the same guy that put Lula in jail with flimsy accusations promptly accepted a position in a government that would not be in power if Lula had been a candidate was extremely concerning, to say the least.

      And now this.

After 16 years of being ruled by the left, there was, in fact, a right-wing conspiracy to seize power. When Dilma was elected for her second term, the reaction from the opposition made it very clear that they would do anything to remove the left from power. And they did.

The good news is that John Oliver's segment will be probably great.
