You wouldn't expect "Institutional Investor" to perform investigative journalism, but this is a somewhat technical story about deep-seated evil and financial shenanigans on the part of one of the premier global corporate consultancies, McKinsey.

Their client list reads like a planetary "Who's Who" of capitalism, but McKinsey partners were self-dealing through a supposedly independent hedge fund, often to the detriment of everyone, including lower-level McKinsey staff who had pension funds tied up in the mess.

It's impossible to tell at this point just how much McKinsey's advice to its clients may have been biased to enrich insiders.

Hopefully, this will get broader and more straightforward media coverage.
