this--not surprisingly, given the description of events and the location--appears to be a terrorist attack, with an apparent 8chan and social media connection as always. (local news source, per the verge)
You have to keep in mind too that every time this happens, it shows all the other wannabe-mass-shooters that if they post their manifesto/etc. on 8chan before hand, the people there will take care of spreading it, ensuring backup copies are made, etc. They may not have been 8chan users beforehand (though many probably are), but they've seen that it consistently works as an amplifier.
Not in this case, 8chan is currently down and has been for a few days already.
I believe it's still accessible through TOR and possibly some other methods, but I'm not totally sure about what state it's currently in. Someone also set up a version on ZeroNet that apparently isn't "official", but is still being used by a decent number of people.
As always, there's a ton of misinformation and bad reporting being repeated about this whole situation right now, so we probably don't know for sure yet which site he posted on (or if he did at all).
I thought the hidden service was down as well, but I haven't checked. Anyways, I somehow doubt it's in an onion or zeronet, it doesn't seem a great idea if you want to give it visibility. It's worth remembering that the El Paso shooter didn't upload to 8chan but to Instagram at first. It's clear that 8chan is a far right radicalization haven, but I don't think the manifesto part is that important. They can post their manifestos wherever, the point is that they will be discussed and exalted in 8chan, wether posted there or not.
The sources don’t say anything about 8chan, only an unnamed internet forum.
Police also say they have found a young woman dead in an apartment in Bærum, and have charged the suspected terrorist with murder as well.
8chan is currently down and has been down for the last few days. I don't know why people jumps to conclusions so quickly with something so easy to check.
Some websites are claiming that the suspect is a 21-year-old man named Philip Manshaus.
