It's honestly depressing to see what other countries consider to be shockingly bad. In a country of 10 Million, SIX INCIDENTS! Meanwhile, in America I think the number is more like 1,200. . .

Police shot six people dead last year, an increase on previous years.

I posted an entire praise for Swedish justice until I learned what the word “acquit” really means.

I personally would have much preferred to be posting titles with the words 'prosecuted' rather than 'acquitted' when the subject matter is as upsetting as this. This wasn't a news article I took...

I personally would have much preferred to be posting titles with the words 'prosecuted' rather than 'acquitted' when the subject matter is as upsetting as this. This wasn't a news article I took any great pleasure in posting, but it is these sorts of stories that need to be brough to light. It's very easy to get suckered into the narrative of Sweden and Scandinavia being a glorified utopia of meatballs and Abba.

Spoke with a friend, who is the son of a police officer. It's a tough scenario to be in. Don't get me wrong, I believe that the police officers who shot the kid in the back should 100% be charged...

Spoke with a friend, who is the son of a police officer. It's a tough scenario to be in. Don't get me wrong, I believe that the police officers who shot the kid in the back should 100% be charged with murder. But I also see how a 20 year old man fumbling around the street with an alleged weapon could be perceived as a threat.

One thing I don't quite understand though is the type of weapon the toy emulated and did it have markers of it being a toy? How did the officers not realize they weren't being shot at after the one officer unloaded an entire clip and the man turned around, which prompted two other officers to shoot the kid in the back?

At the very least, I hope that they don't return to the force, whether by choice or by mandate.
