An old classic, the US fucks over a South American country and instead install a right-wing puppet government that does as they're told all while parading it as an act of freedom and democracy. The fact that the NYT calls itself a respectable newspaper, completely forgoing the fact that already at the inception of the report researchers were critizing it without hearing them out is insane. Good job freedom of speech, but this shit shows that when push comes to shove, they will all just bend over for the US government when it wants to bully a nation that has actually elected a worthwhile leader democratically because they don't like his policies.
