      I think it's a symptom of the existential dread most of us feel deep down. The part of us that knows that this era of humanity is drawing rapidly to a close, and we may well have cursed this planet to end up like Venus.

      My family deals with pain and suffering with dark and absurd humour. I think much of humanity is doing the same, at least subconsciously.

      That kind of explains why the inspiration of every 80s villain became president.
