I think if there's comparable coverage in English, it's definitely best for that to be the main link. There have been some cases where someone like mrbig posts something in Portuguese while saying...

There have been some cases where someone like mrbig posts something in Portuguese while saying that it's not being covered in the English press, and I think those make sense. But there should be a relatively strong reason for a link to be non-English, since that's the shared language on the site.
