Adherents of the QAnon conspiracy theory came to the birthplace of 1,000 conspiracy theories in Dallas on Tuesday.

“What we’re learning is that JFK, when he was shot here, he was the second coming of Jesus Christ, and he was resurrected four days later, and he’s been living in witness protection as well as his son and more than 900 others. And this is the route that he took, but now it’s going to be the route that he’ll finish” says a woman carrying a sign with a QAnon slogan. She declines to give her name, but says she is visiting Dallas from Florida.

This was already crazy, but it's hard to believe that this is at this level of crazy now. And there are tens of millions of these people. Jfc.

I thought they were just waiting for JFK Jr., who died in a plane crash and apparently wants to show up to the place his dad was publicly killed in order to make an announcement. But this is even more strange. JFK would be over 100 years old if he were alive... and wasn't he a Democrat, whom they hate anyway? This is absolutely incoherent. This is dark ages, believes-in-magic-unicorns level delusion.

I've heard a lot of QAnon conspiracy theories but that's a new one. How much more "out there" can they get!?

I don't understand how people that have gone so far down a right-wing rabbit hole like this one could idolize JFK. Do they even know where he stood on issues of his day? They would hate him if he were involved in politics today.

But I guess that's not surprising considering that they would also hate Jesus if Jesus were to preach his stuff today.

It has very little to do with politics and political realities or goals, and almost everything to do with a mishmash of emotions, nostalgia, and feeling like they have an insider perspective that makes them smarter than everyone else, or give a sense of control in their lives.

I mean if the people gathering for the JFK second coming were putting a lot of thought in to it, they probably wouldn't be waiting around for the second coming of a random politician from 60 years ago in the first place.
