Can we get a link that doesn't involve consenting to giving tracking data to Verizon? When I load the page, it's entirely blocked by a large popup that won't let me do anything until I consent to giving them tracking data. (There's a "don't consent" button that I'm guessing leads to pages and pages of opt-out, all of which require that you consent to having a cookie that says you opted out and then you just have to trust they won't use it for tracking.)

For example, here's another article reporting the same thing without any tracking: https://multiplesclerosisnewstoday.com/news-posts/2021/01/11/biontech-vaccine-halts-ms-progression-without-immune-suppression-mouse-model-study/

The reader view in Firefox seems to bypass this issue.

Interesting! I use Reader in Safari, and for whatever reason, it didn't work for this particular article. IF it had, I wouldn't have even noticed.

The manage page seems to let you opt out of anything and everything. I was able to view the article just fine with everything disabled.

Regardless, it's also just a shitty experience to go read an article and have to do something else before reading the article, especially when this isn't exclusive content.

You could always just delete the cookie manually if you're that concerned about it. If you use Firefox, you can also set it to block all cookies, all third-party cookies, and/or accept but delete them (other than your exceptions) whenever you close the browser. Or if you really hate cookies, like I do too, get yourself a cookie manager addon like Cookie AutoDelete which can delete all cookies added by a tab immediately after you close it.

Regardless, it's also just a shitty experience to go read an article and have to do something else before reading the article, especially when this isn't exclusive content.

You can pretty much blame the GDPR for that. But TBH, I think the very mild annoyance of having to set and accept the cookie conditions on sites when you first visit them is far better than the way it used to work before the GDPR, where site didn't even ask your permission at all, and never gave you the option to reject certain ones.
