That being said, we have created an entire society who’s backbone is US funding and that cant be healthy for them. We did it on purpose because we wanted them to be dependent on us.
What Elon is doing won’t accomplish a blossoming society, he’s essentially cut off the benefits without actually ceasing to meddle in the affairs and economies of African countries, so its not like his lack of effort is going to fix Africa, its just going to kill people.
I wish there was someone out there who actually gave a shit and wanted to take steps to stop purposely stifling progress in Africa, but it seems that no one with enough power to do something ever wants to.
In what context? Has US agencies sabotaged African states in the past for political gain? Sure, especially during the cold war. Is the current aid programs designed to stifle progress in Africa?...

And in Africa specifically, there has been constant us involvement to dismantle ISIS activities in Somalia and while it's a strong testament that US forces were able to decisively take action to suppress ISIS to near irrelevance in the middle east, the conflict in Africa has destabilized the region for well over 15 years now, dispite all the US involvement and support. And that instability is only spreading, while these governments really need that support to survive. And Africa and ISIS makes for a convenient cost center for the MIC.
And of course theres the more prominent and constant interventions in the middle east and central/south america that has cost countless lives of local people and billions of Tax dollars. Dispite that, so few of these places seem to be healthy stable states post US involvement.
I'm not bringing all this up to say "America Bad" or that the US is some malevolent global player. Just that the conspiratorial part of me is screaming that America today looks a lot like the kind of place America would have invaded a few decades ago. It's the same set of conditions experienced by many thriving countries that seemed to descend into a hyper conservative/nationalist frenzy before the US swooped in to "set things straight".
Is it just the natural course for Democratic nations? Or are Americans the next easy target for the corporate-government machine?

Or provide ripe new markets for Chinese investors to play hero. Save the population and let the world know who did it.
How do you know that the US was purposely stifling progress in Africa?
Is that not common knowledge? Im sure its easy to Google
Definitely not common knowledge. Never heard of it and it sounds like a conspiracy theory.

And it's not even limited to third world countries. The CIA allegedly overthrew the democratically elected government of Australia resulting in the country now hosting a massive CIA spying operation while the Australian military is strongly suspected of facilitating and covering up war crimes during the war on terror. (Reccommend the game The Hand With Many Fingers if you want to start unpacking this web yourself)
