Super excited that the US is back in the mix when it comes to launching astronauts into space. Rocket launches are awesome opportunities to engage the public and remind them of the value of space exploration and research (even if the rocket launch itself to the average person is probably just, "Holy shit did you see all that fire!?") and I'm glad we're going to be having more of them.
Hopefully this all parlays into an increase in public funding for NASA's research and exploration, and less of a reliance on private companies, particularly SpaceX because of the uncomfortable realities of Elon Musk.
I'm sad that this is exciting because we're just treading old ground. That being said, I'm still excited and watched the launch and felt a twinge of pride.

This is old, why is it being posted now? The launch didn't happen Wednesday. The next attempt is scheduled for today at 3:22 pm EDT. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIZsnKGV8TE
