All evidence points towards this being a stunt to sell his book. But...this line at the very end made me laugh:

Eshed provided more information in his newest book, The Universe Beyond the Horizon – conversations with Professor Haim Eshed, along with other details such as how aliens have prevented nuclear apocalypses and "when we can jump in and visit the Men in Black." The book is available now for NIS 98.

All evidence points towards this being a stunt to sell his book.

But...this line at the very end made me laugh:

The Jerusalem Post was unable to reach out to this supposed Galactic Federation for comment.

But Eshed insists that Trump is aware of them, and that he was "on the verge" of disclosing their existence. However, the Galactic Federation reportedly stopped him from doing so, saying they wished to prevent mass hysteria since they felt humanity needed to "evolve and reach a stage where we will... understand what space and spaceships are," Yediot Aharonot reported.

No power, on this world or otherwise, would be able to keep Trump's mouth shut if he had contacted or was informed of extraterrestrials, especially if there was a joint base on Mars. It would have come up as a hypothetical during one of his rallies, Twitter rambles, or Fox and Friends call-ins.

I’m not sure if your comment is entirely serious, but IF there is such a thing as a Galactic Federation, things like human replicas and mind control suddenly enter the realm of possibility...

What sort of fucked up Alien civilization would create a replicant like Trump? Either their tech is stuck in the uncanny valley, or they have a very unusual sense of humor.

It might be awesome. Native populations did not do well in Earthly colonizations.

TBH, I gotta give it to 'em, "Former Israeli space security chief" gives this guy more qualification to make such a theory than the vast, vast majority of conspiracy theorists.

An easy objection: if such a powerful alien organization exists and wishes to remain secret, how is he alive? How can his book be published?

It's actually in their interest that this go to press. Checkmate!

An episode of Stargate SG-1 sort of dealt with this

A TV show called “Wormhole Extreme” had been created by an alien posing as a human. Despite the similarities to the Stargate program, the US government and US Air Force decided to let the show go on to act as a sort of a “plausible deniability” for any leaks about the actual Stargate program. If someone started blabbing about the actual Stargate, the Air Force/US govt could just call them crazy and inspired by the tv show

But in terms of the quality of the show itself, it’s really very good, IMO.

10 seasons of SG-1, 5 it’s first spinoff, Stargate Atlantis, and 2 of the lesser liked Stargate Universe

I might check it out if it was on Netflix or Amazon anyway, but sadly that is not the case right now :(

Idea for a story: an extraterrestrial con artist comes to Earth trying to sell a spot in the fictitious “Galactic Federation”. Star Trek did it first :(
