Doesn't help a whole lot for the people defending the rest of the Cavs as a team when this happens. LeBron has the entire team on his back and is actively held back by his teammates. I'd be beyond surprised if he stays in Cleveland after this year even if they do manage to upset GSW.
Please no Decision Part 2 though...
Yeah, the team sucks, but Lebron was instrumental in putting that team together, so he shares some of the blame. Also, the image of him screaming "WTF" at JR is already a classic Finals moment, so worth it (not for Lebron, though).
I'd hardly blame LeBron for the team play. Even if he was the GM you never expect a veteran player to not know the score in a last second situation of the NBA Finals. That's just unacceptable really. This is going to he the straw that broke lebrons back after all the carrying he has done.
Oh no, no blame on Lebron for JR being, well, JR. But the only reason his there is because Lebron wanted him as a teammate and management acquiesced. So although it's amazing to think that a professional basketball player was unaware of the score in such a crucial moment, it borders on being unbelievable, the fault ultimately lies with the people that put the team together. JR has always been like this.
It's on everyone really. Regardless though I think it is safe to say after last night that it won't really matter after the season is over as I don't see a way LeBron James is in Cleveland next season.
I'm not the world's biggest NBA fan, mainly because individual players can have this kind of impact on the league. I don't really see how anything can be done about it, it's just the nature of a sport with only five players on a team at a time. But man is it boring seeing the same dude in the finals for eight straight years.
Well don't worry, next year will definitely not be a repeat of this year. It'll be the warriors vs whatever team Lebron moves to.
Seriously though, I hope the Celtics come out on top in the east next year and someone in the west takes out the warriors. Its getting kind of repetitive at this point.
it's still a team sport. LeBron had a monster game and the Cavs still lost!
edit: Also I respectfully disagree about this Finals matchup being boring. If the playoffs are about the two best teams competing against each other, is this not the ideal matchup? Say what you want about the Cavs players underperforming compared with their contracts, but frankly I think these are the two strongest rosters in the NBA. We can ask "What if...?" only so many times about CP3 and Kyrie, but the fact of the matter is that we are here, and this is an historic rivalry in what I consider to be historic dynasties.
But what do I know? Maybe fans complained about Michael Jordan in the Finals six out of eight seasons, or Bill Russell appearing in 12 Finals in 13 seasons.
A king can't rule alone.
