In my humble opinion France can demolish England (or the less likely option: Croatia). With Belgium it would have been up for a toss
I would be shocked if Croatia manage to beat England. They just looked so tired towards the end of their match against Russia. I think Modric and Rakatic can dictate the game, but they haven’t had that extra bit of luck/quality in the final third that England seems to be getting.
Both have strong midfields, England has the better strikers and both have decent defenses that are prone to mistakes. If I was betting, I’d put my money on England but Croatia definitely has the talent to get that win. I’d be focusing on walker if I was Croatia and Lovren if England.
They certainly looked strong today, with an incredible game from Lloris and all around top-notch defending. You're probably right though, but if this match was the peak of the cup, well... I'm not too upset
I enjoyed the first half, but the second half was a little slow. There was no sense of urgency from the Belgians, and the time wasting towards the end was annoying.
I think once Mertens came on, there was a small spat of play with some urgency.
Hazard as good as he is blew a huge chance when he had Lukaku wide open but chose to go alone instead. Similar happened against Brazil where he went for glory instead of what could have been easier chances.
That's a fair point--Mertens definitely upped their offense for a few minutes with his crosses.
France all the way baby, would have thought it was going to be France vs Brazil at the start though.
