The misremembering of McGwire-Sosa: Nobody cared that Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa were using, right up until they did.

This is why I believe steroid users should be in the Hall. McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, Rodriguez etc.....It's why I have no issue with Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the Anthem People never care about...

People never care about these things until someone else tells them to.

The entire country watched the Home Run chase of 98. The entire country watched Bonds hit 73 and later overtook Aaron.

But then someone decided that steroids were bad for the game and started digging. They opened up a Pandoras Box the game still hasn't fully recovered from.

But you know what really grinds my gears about it?

There have been cheaters in the Hall since Day 1. Cheating has always been a part of baseball, to some extent. Stealing signs, spitballs, any way to gain an edge. Every Hall of Famer has either cheated, or played next to, someone who did.

Why the Steroid Era is the point the writers chose to grow a conscience is beyond me
