Where I live soccer is huge, and I noticed that here on Tildes no one was talking about it. Roma fan here, let's hope both our teams will do better than they are doing now.

Ha, we're both 8th in our respective leagues. At least Roma are looking better in their CL group than we are.

Only because we are in an easier one to be honest. Maybe we'll end up both in the knockout stage against one another.

That's true. The first season in a long long time where drawing Real in the group stage isn't too scary. Hopefully they don't get back on track under the new manager before Roma host them.

Real players seem burn out after winning CL the last three years. This and CR7 and his 50 goals per season are the two main reason of their debacle in my opinion. Benzema in the last 2-3 years has become unable to score consistently, and he's not good enough to replace CR7 role as main scorer of the team.

Barca had the same problem around 2010 after their players won everything multiple times with Barca and with the Spanish national team.

We all have our favourite teams we tend to follow thanks to videogames. For example I like Benfica because when the become a legend mode came out on FIFA I was playing as a young striker and they bought me and I won everything with them. Good times.

What were some of your favorite or most vivid memories following Barca in the 90s? I became a fan of United during the Cantona era in the mid-90s, but I'm an American and didn't see my first match...

What were some of your favorite or most vivid memories following Barca in the 90s? I became a fan of United during the Cantona era in the mid-90s, but I'm an American and didn't see my first match live until 2007 against West Ham. We had limited broadcasting of European games back then too. United was the only club that got consistent TV time for their matches, and everything else was just highlights if anything at all.

Very cool. Speaking of Stoichkov, I actually got to see him play in WC 94... although Bulgaria lost like 3-0 to Nigeria that day. Also Laudrup, haven't heard that name in a while, and I never realized he went straight to Real from Barca. Seems like Figo is the one who gets all the hate for doing that even though he wasn't alone - maybe because he was more recent. I remember becoming interested in the Laudrup brothers during WC 98 when they made the quarterfinals. I think I even had a Michael Laudrup trading card, ha.
