    The crazy thing is that UMD's team isn't particularly spectacular. As a UMD student, I don't mind that there is a football program. Just as long as they: A) don't kill or seriously injure anyone...

    As a UMD student, I don't mind that there is a football program. Just as long as they:

    A) don't kill or seriously injure anyone (which they did)

    B) Make me pay for it through a $200/semester "athletic fee" or $40 million state subsidy for a new indoor practice field.

    I go to university to get an education. Not to subsidize a minor league athletic team.
