I wonder, is this even on the radar for anyone outside of Canada? It feels like our entire country has become enthralled with the Raptor's performance. I spent a week in Calgary recently and everyone there were hooked on the first game of the Finals. It's pretty significant because I don't even think all of Canada rallied this much around the Jays when they were doing well, and the hockey teams never get this kind of unity even if a team is the last standing Canadian one.

So Raptors-mania seems to have taken over the entire country. I'm pretty sure Kawhi already never has to pay for another meal across Canada.

I think the combination of the Warriors being the big-bad of the NBA and also the Raptors being the only international team has also helped in boosting their popularity overseas.

I heard that there were something like 33 movie theaters showing game 2 across Canada, and fake Jurassic Parks setup throughout other cities. It's crazy that the whole country is involved, has almost a more Olympics/World Cup feel to it.

I was talking about the popularity of Lin's team in Asia :) the Rockets got big in Asia because of Yao and Lin, and they've been riding that wave for a while. The Knicks got some boost overseas (from what I've read) because of Linsanity. Not to say it wasn't happening, but I didn't read anything online about how young Asian children were becoming Atlanta fans because of Lin this year.
