To be honest, I don't see it going anywhere, at least not as soon as 25 years. I feel like combat sports (boxing, MMA, etc) are a good example of this. Those sports can be very dangerous and yet...

To be honest, I don't see it going anywhere, at least not as soon as 25 years. I feel like combat sports (boxing, MMA, etc) are a good example of this. Those sports can be very dangerous and yet they are still extremely popular after all these years simply because people love it and it makes a ton of money.

I live in Texas. If you've ever seen the movie Friday Night Lights, or watched it's spinoff TV show.....they're not really exaggerating just how much of an impact high school football has. My high school played in two different stadiums, depending on who our opponent was. One stadium had a capacity of 15,000 and the other, 10000. Depending on the teams, you could have a max capacity stadium for a simple high school football game. And, not to forget, Allen High School's stadium with it's 18k capacity that cost 70 million dollars to build and repair.

As long as that appetite for football is there, the pipeline of talented players will continue to go up.

Especially when you consider the NCAA is essentially a professional sports league profiting off the players and raking in the sort of money it does.
