I usually make a point not to browse news-related sections of sites, as I find people tend to try and overly soapbox when presenting what they want to submit, so I tend not to go to ~news....

Thank you! I had to make a repost on games after making one on news cause I had found a news related to both but couldn't find a option for related topics. :P Adding that feature would be time saver!

I can see where the NFL is coming from. I feel like they felt the loss of too much viewership and they are trying to pin that on the kneeling. However the players should absolutely have the right...

However the players should absolutely have the right to kneel if they want to. Peaceful protest is like the soul food of the USA.
I'm going to disagree, the NFL (and Roger Goodell) are just the liason to viewers from the NFL owners. I think the owners were getting tired of this and requested this action.
