Admittedly I am still a bit out of touch these days as far as UFC is concerned, since I am only slowly getting back into watching it regularly... but you just missed a good one in UFC 257, with McGregor vs. Poirier as the headliner. If you haven't accidentally stumbled upon any spoilers yet, I would recommend watching it.

The upcoming UFC 258 looks like it'll be good too. Usman vs. Burns, and Hall vs. Weidman should both be pretty exciting.

But what I am most excited for is the next Fight Night on Feb 6th, featuring Overeem vs. Volkov, since I'm a huge fan of all the Dutch fighters from the early Pride/K-1/Strikeforce days, Overeem included.

Chris Weidman, on the other hand... I think his days are numbered.

Usman v. Burns ought to be interesting, as they had previously been training partners for a while. Usman is a great fighter and very effective, but his style isn’t very ...“aesthetically” pleasing. Kinda hoping Burns takes this one, just to shake things up.

Yea, I would absolutely love for Overeem to get one more shot at the title too. Unless he goes on an absolute tear and manages to keep crushing everyone the UFC puts in front of him, I doubt that...

I also wouldn't totally count Wiedman out just yet. He is finally recovered enough from all his surgeries to make it back to middleweight, and that makes a huge difference. The only question is whether me manages to stay healthy long enough to make anything of it... which has historically been hard for him, sadly, since the dude is an injury magnet. Uriah Hall is a straight up killer though, so Weidman is going to have his work cut out for him. But Weidman has beaten him before, so again I wouldn't totally count him out just yet.

Heh, reminds me of Overeem v. Arlovski from a few years ago, but I doubt all the drama that has occurred between those two over the years can ever be topped. ;)

NP. Glad you enjoyed it. :) And yeah, I am not a fan of McGregor (I hate cocky fighters) so, at least for me, it was great to see him finally get taken down a peg in a pure striking match. Poirier...

I casually pop in and out of watching MMA but I will always watch any opportunity for Connor McGregor get his ass kicked and hope he’ll shut his mouth.

I felt the same about Anderson Silva back in the day too... although the end of his UFC win streak was more horrifying than satisfying. 💥🦵🤢
